I like taking things nice and slow—which probably explains why I’m only back here again now. Yay!
When it comes to my favourite year so far, I like to think that it was a whole decade ago when I was 15. 2007. It was the year where I had a lot of things going for me, and it was generally a super fun year. It was the year before my major O-Level exams (so I was pretty um, carefree??), I was set to go to Hong Kong for the first time with my pals, I was newly appointed student council president so I had a ton of fun things to plan and do, and I was in our school’s first-ever musical.
2016 wasn’t a bad year for me per se, but I definitely can’t remember any particularly great moments. It was more of a whole bunch of small things that made the months great. So things I’m looking at this year:
I don’t think I’m healthy, healthy yet, but I’m exercising!
Last year saw me going to the gym every month—mostly because of the membership fee I’m shelling out money for—which is great. I’ve definitely gotten physically stronger (I can squat with 30kg now! 30kg!!), which is something I never considered prior to gymming because all I wanted was to be skinny.
Definitely will work on health goals in 2017.
At an annual Christmas shindig with friends, a few of us lamented about how we’ve spent so much in 2016. A lot of it might have been because it was our first year of work and every pay check basically felt like a dream come true aka SPEND IT ALL BECAUSE I NEED TLC FOR ADULTING.
This year, I’m aiming to properly put aside a good amount for a place of my own in the next five years. Fingers crossed.
Be as clutter-free as possible
I think the key to a living a ‘light’ life is to physically have less things. I’ve donated/sold/thrown away quite a good amount of things in the last two months, and I’m looking to keep that going.
Spend more time with the fambam, and the would-be fambam.
I think I’ve actually got this more or less in order, since Nigel and I spend most weekends in. I’m really thankful to have someone as bum as I am.
I’ve been toying with the idea of doing something for the longest time. Whether it’s picking up a new skill, starting a small business, etc. Definitely need to give this more thought, but yes I. Will. Do. Something.
Alright, till next time!
