Visiting JYP, Cube Cafe & Cofioca

On my last trip, I successfully managed to visit the SM, JYP and YG buildings but skipped out on Cube because we were all really tired after. We also missed out on going to Cofiaca – a bubble tea shop famed for having throngs of SM artistes patronise it. On this trip however, we managed to visit Cofioca and Cube Cafe. (Seriously…the amount of time I put into this fandom) We didn’t go to Cube itself. I’ll also be giving more detailed directions on getting to JYP since it’s along the way.

Something to note: in my ‘How-To’ entry, I mentioned that I got off at Cheongdam Station to get to SM and JYP Entertainment. On my trip this time, I got off at the same station. HOWEVER, Apgujeong is really a lot closer to the SM building (and possibly JYP and Cube too).

Will go further into that later, but will provide detailed walking directions from Cheongdam to JYP/Cube Cafe here.

Familiar streets! Because the entertainment companies are all close to each other, the walking directions are pretty much the same. Once you get out of the station, just keep walking straight until you come to a large T-Junction and see this:

Cross the road toward the Citybank and then turn to your right and keep walking.

You should be walking on this street.

Stop when you spot Baskin Robbins and turn into this lane. Keep left and you should soon see JYP:

To the right of JYP there is another lane. Go down that lane to go to Cube Cafe.

Ta-dah! With Yoseob‘s huge picture plastered on the outside because he was promoting ‘Caffeine’ then.

A better picture!

We wanted to go inside Cube Cafe but because we wanted some real food first, we settled at some Korean underground eatery directly opposite Cube Cafe. I can’t remember its exact name, but we saw lots of artiste signatures at the front door again. Haha.

Signatures everywhere! Whose do you spot?

Once we were done, we went back up. See how Cube Cafe is directly opposite!

Fan merchandise everywhere. None of it is overpriced, which is really great!

Hehe.

Ordered toast and coffee and we got this cute buzzer with the BEAST boys on it.

Photobucket

Toast at about S$7? Lots of cafes sell huge yummy toasts.

We stayed there for quite a bit because no one really wanted to step out into the cold but eventually made our way out of the place. We passed by JYP again before stepping out to the main road (the Baskin Robbins one!).

Once we reached the T-Junction with the Citybank once again, we turned right and continued walking down to Cofiaca. Which means if you’re going straight to SM from Cheongdam, just keep going straight after you cross the road toward Citybank instead of turning right (toward JYP + Cube Cafe). It’s a bit confusing but trust me when I say it’s not as tough as it sounds.

The white balloons decorating the trees are so pretty!! I wonder if it was for Christmas and to complement the snow everywhere.

Passing by the same buildings last year when I was heading to SM for the first time.

Photobucket

SM under some renovation works! We just zipped by this time since we can’t really do much around the building there (a fan visited about two weeks after and got to hear SHINee rehearsing their new song though).

Photobucket

Cofioca! It’s TINYYY but so cute. I don’t remember the exact directions but the address is added below for your reference! It’s definitely close to Apgujeong Station as well.

Signatures everywhere!

From what I remember, the ahjumma in the shop is extremely friendly and loud. But maybe that’s also because she gets a lot of business! Hahah. The drinks here aren’t cheap for such a small, modest shop. Bubble tea in Singapore typically costs about S$2.40 for a medium milk tea from outlets like Gongcha or Koi here but costs about ₩5000 there (about S$6).

Till next time xx.
