It’s that time of the year again for my favourite festive season! Awkward small talk, weight-gaining and trying to remain zen amidst my mum screeching at me to get up early aside – there is no reason why I do not like the Lunar New Year. I think the main reason is likely because it’s the only occasion that my family bothers about, and that in itself is a great reason to embrace it!
When we were younger, everything definitely felt a lot more exciting with the novelty of ang paos (red packets) and house-hopping – but that’s not to say that I don’t enjoy it as much now that I’m older. I think my favourite year so far has definitely got to be the one when my birthday fell on chu yi (the first day of the New Year) – double ang paos galore!
Right now, I’m sitting at home after House No. 1 attempting to start on one more article for Stop Press. Ha ha ha but shall not bother about feeling sorry for myself, more good food to come!
May the year of the Dragon bring you lots of luck, wealth and success in all you do. 🙂 For myself, I hope that I’ll be blessed in all aspects of life too, and may my family and friends always be happy and healthy.
